Photoshop Journal #005

This surreal Underwater scene is a tutorial from psd-dude.com. It is a lengthy tutorial and became complicated in some parts. I was using my own images instead of the stock images, save the underwater textures, so I made some adjustments that were different than the tutorial. Overall I'm pleased with my results, although I would like to work the lighting just a bit more if I were to spend more time on it. As it is, this image probably took me an hour and a half to complete.

This is a nifty little effect simulating a water reflection. You can find the tutorial on photoshopessentials.com.

Here is a watercolor effect that was very simple to do. The tutorial came from photoshopessentials.com. I must say, I'm not totally pleased with the result. Perhaps my image is too dark when compared to the bright and colorful sample image they have on the tutorial. Combining these effects did teach me some very nifty layering techniques when paired with blending techniques.

One thing to note- If you're using CS6 some of the filters, like Cut Out filter which is used in this tutorial, are now hidden under the Filter Gallery. If you want them to be listed again under the filters menu you can go to Photoshop→Preferences→Plug-Ins on the Mac and choose Show all Filter Gallery groups and names.

This 3D Pop Up effect is from photoshopessentials.com. While there were a lot of steps, it was a pretty easy tutorial with a neat finished product.

First entry into my Potoshop blog is a special smoke effect tutorial from photoshoplady.com. Below is my original photo.

For a school project I'm morphing this photo blog into a Photoshop blog. I'll be journaling my photos already posted on here but with Photoshop touches added for my practice.
